Unifying painting, sculpture, architecture and drawing, Nicolas Roggy employs a wide range of materials, which he assembles, piles, and molds into dense yet playful, textural configurations. Layers of pigment are amassed then sanded, torn and peeled away to reveal an emphatic relief that is defined by a harmonious network of shape, gesture and color.
Nicolas Roggy (b. 1980 in Le Blanc, France) attended Collège Marcel Duchamp and École Régionale des Beaux-Arts de Nantes. He currently lives and works in Paris, France.
